Michel Daher is an entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. He grew up in Fourzol Lebanon with five siblings and incredibly supportive parents who encouraged his entrepreneurial spirit in every stage of his life.
In 1978 as the civil war raged in Lebanon and at the age of seventeen, Michel joined his father in Saudi Arabia who had opened a small poultry farm there. Two years later, Michel’s father asked him to run the small farm in Saudi Arabia as he had decided to come back to Lebanon, at only 19 years of age.
Over the next 12 years and amid fierce competition, Michel turned a small poultry farm operation into a one thousand employee business in Saudi Arabia whose activities spanned the marketing of chicken and eggs, farming, distribution of veterinary products and the trading of chicken feed and corn.
Michel married Marleine Sayde in 1986 and they have four children together.
After the Lebanese civil war ended in 1990, Michel decided to move back to his hometown of Fourzol and founded Daher Foods. Over the years, Daher Foods became a multinational food and snacks company with presence across the Middle East and interests in farming, food manufacturing and distribution.
Having always had an interest in investing, Michel started investing his earnings in publicly traded companies, private companies, technology startups and real estate around the world. In a short period of time, Michel found immense success in this new path and later organized these activities in a single family office known today as Daher Capital.
As a result of his efforts, Michel rang the NYSE bell twice, in 2010 and 2013. He has also been recognized as one of the largest backers of the Los Angeles startup ecosystem by the LA Times.
In 2014, having always given back to society in a meaningful way, Michel and Marleine decided to organize their giving and founded the Michel Daher Social Foundation where they serve as co-chairs today.
